02 · External audit
An outside view of your management system
The audit is carried out by someone outside your organisation. This meets the independence requirement for the compliance monitoring function and gives you a realistic picture before an inspection by the competent authority.
Compliance audit
We check whether your procedures, manuals and records comply with the applicable requirements and approved documents.
- Review of manuals and procedures against regulations
- Sampling of training, flight and personnel records
- Review of internal audit planning and execution
- Classification of findings by level
SMS audit
An assessment of whether your safety management system works in practice, from occurrence reporting to closing out risks.
- Hazard identification and risk register
- Reporting system and occurrence investigation
- Safety performance indicators and safety review board
- Management of change and safety promotion
The audit as an approach profile
Every audit passes the same fixes, from the first agreement to closing the last finding. Select a fix for details.
A significant non-compliance that affects safety. Requires immediate corrective action.
A non-compliance with a regulation or approved procedure. Closed within an agreed period.
A suggestion for improvement that is not a non-compliance but reduces the risk of future findings.

Regulation
For information only. Requirements depend on your licence, experience and decisions of the competent authority; for a definitive answer check Regulation (EU) 1178/2011 (Part-FCL, Part-MED) or contact us. LAPL, SPL, BIR, night rating and other privileges without an expiry date require recent experience instead of revalidation, so they are not in the calculator.

06 · FAQ
Frequently asked questions
What is an external compliance monitoring audit?
It is a review carried out by someone outside your organisation. It establishes whether procedures, manuals and records comply with regulations and approved documents, and you receive findings with regulatory reference, level and recommendation.
When can I revalidate my SEP rating?
The SEP rating is valid for 24 months. It is revalidated by a proficiency check within the 3 months before expiry, or by experience within the 12 months before expiry: 12 hours of flight time in the class, including 6 hours as PIC, 12 take-offs and 12 landings, and at least 1 hour of training with an instructor (FCL.740.A).
What is the difference between revalidation and renewal?
Revalidation is done while the rating is still valid. Renewal is required once the rating has expired and includes refresher training as assessed by a training organisation, followed by a proficiency check.
Do I lose days if I take the check early?
If you pass the check within the 3 months before expiry, the new validity period runs from the current expiry date, so you lose nothing. If you take it earlier, the new period runs from the date of the check (FCL.740(b)). Work it out with the validity calculator.
Do you conduct checks on our aircraft and at our aerodrome?
Yes. We schedule checks around your aircraft, aerodrome and timetable.
Can an external audit help before an authority inspection?
Yes. An independent audit gives a realistic picture of your system before the inspection, so you can close findings with corrective actions in time.
